Some larger items sold by AmericanTrucks ship via LTL freight carriers instead of standard parcel services. If your order is shipping by freight, here’s everything you need to know to ensure a smooth delivery experience.
Receiving Your Freight Shipment
-
Scheduling Delivery:
You are responsible for scheduling and accepting the delivery in a timely manner. -
Storage Fees:
If delivery is delayed due to your unavailability, any storage fees will be your responsibility. -
Refusing Shipments:
Only refuse delivery if the item is visibly damaged. If there's no visible damage, accept the shipment and inspect the contents.
Inspecting Your Shipment
-
Missing Items:
If anything is missing from your shipment, contact us right away so we can help resolve the issue. -
Check for Damage:
Be sure to inspect your item for damage upon delivery.
Failure to report damage at the time of delivery may result in denial of your damage claim.
Concealed Damage
If you find damage after the delivery that wasn’t visible at the time:
- Contact us as soon as possible.
- Please note: If there was visible damage to the packaging at delivery and you still accepted the shipment, we may not be able to honor a damage claim.
Additional Freight Fees
Your order may include a handling fee to cover shipping based on your provided address. However, extra services requested by you (and not included at checkout) may incur additional costs, including:
- Storage before delivery
- Inside or limited access delivery
- Redelivery due to a missed appointment
- Address corrections
Final Notes
- Freight items are not returnable once shipped.
-
Refusing a non-damaged shipment will result in fees including:
- Original shipping
- Return shipping
- Replacement packaging
- Storage fees
- A restocking fee (at our discretion)
- Important: If you authorize the carrier to deliver without a signature or leave a note allowing delivery without inspection, you waive all liability for damage or loss — for both the freight carrier and AmericanTrucks.com.
